Alex Calderon is a first-generation Chicago-born native who was raised on the northside of the city. With 18 years of experience, he is a technology expert within the fields of cybersecurity, networking, project management, analytics, service delivery, and so much more. At a very young age, Alex took apart electronics all around this house and put them back together. His passion later grew as he began his career in the technology industry. Alex graduated with a Bachelor in Science from the University of Illinois at Chicago and a Master in Business Administration from Northeastern Illinois University.
He is the Co-Founder & CEO of Dándole Tech, a non-profit organization that provides technology & education for Latinx students across the city of Chicago.
Alex serves the community by assisting other organizations including, the Ideal Candidate, a non-profit organization that fosters African-American and Hispanic leadership through professional development in Chicago, IL. This program was established to promote: financial literacy, etiquette, corporate training, and self-sufficiency skills to the youth. Alex hosts a winter gift program to provide warm essentials to the city’s less fortunate who do not have permeant housing. Alex has been quoted saying “If you’re in a position to help someone, help them. God may be answering that person’s prayers through you. This is the message we should all live by. Imagine if we all helped even one person—what a difference that would make in the world.”
Alex’s late father, Odilio Calderon, was a major influence on why Dándole Tech was started. His father was a caring and giving man, who lived his life helping others. He was the first to donate a computer in times of need and will always be remembered for being a great role model to his family, friends, and community.
